Thanks for your interest in this popular group. It is currently full — but all is not lost! To have your name added to the waiting list, please email Isobel, the Interest Groups Co-ordinator, with your contact details.
It would also be good to know whether you'd be willing to help establish another Garden group if there's sufficient interest. Leading a group is a very rewarding experience, and you wouldn't be on your own — plenty of help and support is always available.
We look forward to hearing from you!

The Garden Group was founded in 2019 and we now have 16 members. It is a lovely, friendly group where we swap plants, garden books, magazines and garden ephemera as well as ideas. We try to resolve one another’s garden problems at our meetings and as we all have different types of gardens, not just “Wollaton clay”, we are never short of something to chat about and there is always a garden based quiz which we all look forward to! Our monthly theme is usually the “Gardening Month” and we all learn the tricks of the trade from one another as there are so many ways to garden, both old and new.
The group meets monthly on the second Friday of the month at 10.30am to 12.30pm in the meeting room of Wollaton Library. We have interesting discussions at our meetings in Wollaton Library on all things garden related. The fee is £2.00 including refreshments.
We have an annual outing to the u3a allotments at Canalside, off Lambourne Drive and enjoy a picnic on one of the three plots, amongst the birdsong and trees and are able to buy some of the lovely fruit and vegetables grown there. This visit is also open to other u3a members.
We also organise a plant sale in May/June every year at the u3a monthly coffee morning where plants, produce, seeds and seedlings are available to u3a members.
We encourage everyone to
Carry on Gardening
and reap the benefits!
