Starring Camille Rutherford, Pablo Pauly, Charlie Anson; Directed by Laura Piani
Aspiring French author and 21st century Jane Austen heroine, Agathe, attends a Jane Austen writers' residency in England. She finds herself in a love triangle between her philandering bookshop French friend, Felix, and Oliver, an English Darcy-like character, who is a professor of literature and also a descendant of Jane Austen! The film is delightful to watch with lovely scenery and inevitable scenes of the characters dancing in a ball, but it lacks general substance. Camille Rutherford's Agathe is a witty and well-portrayed character. Notwithstanding the title, the film has a traditional happy ending and Agathe finds her writing voice.
